Crazines of Christianity 7
Welcome back to “Craziness of Christianity”, I hope we have been taking notes and making comments. It used to be said that "there is a lot of seepage in old water ditches", I think we can safely say the same about organized Christianity. We can certainly see that as time has gone by Christianity has developed so much seepage it looks nothing like what Christ’s original teachings looked like.
"Love your brother as yourself” and "sell all your goods and come and follow me” has all but disappeared. Let us consider one more important example which is Jesus’s attitude about “obedience” and belonging to a group.
In Mark 9:40 of the Bible Jesus states "For whoever is not against us is for us". It seems to me that Jesus, unlike his followers is not hung up on “theologies” or “theories of the divine”; nor belonging to a particular group, but rather his focus is on ACTIONS !! Are they expelling demons? Are they healing people in my name? That is ALL THAT MATTERS TO JESUS!! In contrast we can travel forward in time, and through the ages, we see that, to the catholic, and later Christian churches, having a “set of dogmas” and rituals that everyone must follow, becomes very important. Why do you think that is? This is completely contrary to Jesus's presentation in the gospels.
To understand this, we have to take a look at Christian pedagogy, and Rome's need for unity in the year 325
It is important to note that as Christian children grow, they are taught, that there are a set of beliefs that must be followed. Obedience is what is being taught. While continuously being told “This is the way God wants things to be”, “God loves you like his own child”; etc. All of these strategies address the child's emotions, while inputting unverifiable information. When the child disagrees or asks a hard question the famous answer of “Who knows God's mysterious ways”is the best answer he ever receives. Children in religious classes, who do not abide by those beliefs being taught, were and are punished in different ways. Anyone raised in a Christian household will remember the stiff sentences for disobedience. Due to this training, Children learn, to memorize all convenient Christian principles at the time, in their heads as if they were multiplication tables until they get cemented in, and then forgotten in the sands of time. The thing that is never forgotten is the assumption and belief that their church has God's ultimate truth, and everyone else is wrong. These children stop questioning and now blindly believe that “there are truths that the church holds about God for which I should not demand evidence because God will get mad” and that there are “objective realities, that can't be explained”, such as the Holy Trinity, Transubstantiation, confession, the soul, most important “Infallibility of the church” and other “dogmas of faith”, for which there is no scientific or empirical evidence, yet children, have been forced to accept these beliefs as facts or be cast out of their religious and social and emotional circle. This is the process through which people become intellectually and emotionally enslaved, and they turn to religious leaders to explain baseles realities about what we used to question freely as children because we knew they did not make any more sense than any mythological or witch story. Above all this, children were taught to OBEY their church. Let us understand that OBEYING the church is very far from “following Jesus example of life. Jesus, the gospels, or any idea you have of a “loving Jesus” and that that idea is replaced with “discipline and obedience” which in the year 325 was a perfect solution to the problems being suffered by the Roman empire, but it is contrary to Jesus's essential teachings and way of life.
Grooming children proved to be a perfect solution to an empire that was divided due to the number of different ideologies, In the year 325 grooming children, facilitated Roman unity and thus expansion. Groom their soldiers as Christian children and they will die for their empire, just like Christian children would die for their “one true God”. The only problem is that to make it useful to the Roman empire, Constantine had to “tweak “ a few things, so much so that Jesus’s whole life example is substituted for discipline and obedience. Remember Constantine did not get baptized until his deathbed “just in case”, I guess. So he didn't believe in Christianity, but he saw it as a useful tool, and used it he did.
Continuing with Jesus, let me state that, when Jesus said “Let the children come to me”, he did not have in mind to forcefully indoctrinate them, nor did he demand that children be baptized. This was a “tradition” acquired in the second century by the church’s efforts to block other forms of thinking, which back then were called “heresies”, and punishable by death. That is why Organized Religious Grooming, was found to be so useful. A fascist empire indoctrinating all children based on obedience to the empire gave rise to the first “world Power”. We can truly say that it was the Christian church that first bumped into the idea of “He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future,” Constantine saw the value in it and through this practice, gave the infrastructure of unity to the “Holy Roman Empire”, with him as Emperor, blessed by the one true God, via the “Catholic Church”. Child grooming certainly must have been one of the reasons why Constantine fought to make Christianity legal, and then he called organized and participated in the Nicaea Council to shape the dogma of the church, away from poverty, humility, and loving your brother as yourself, replacing it with “Blind Obedience”.
While the churches have promoted “respect mother and father" independently of what they do, parents have enforced “respect the church” no matter what they do. Abusive parents or abusive priests were just fine, they have always been tolerated, becasue children were considered "commodities" almost property, to do with as you will. It is like having a young child be raised by two abusive parents.
We have thus raised a society with missing trust in themselves and their ability to question authority, no empathy, and lack of actual critical thinking, or any deep thoughts, replaced by survivalist emotional thinking, and a very egocentric mentality bordering on narcissism, continuously trying to come up with the answer that will make you part of a group, independently of what you believe.
In a society formed by such individuals, all science and truth must be approved by religious entities, otherwise, it becomes illegal, and an “ethical problem”. simple problems such as “Why is Johnny different” becomes a huge problem, because the ability to empathize with “others” and thinking critically has been destroyed by a lot of “grooming” and “continuous discipline” done by parents, institutions, and the churches they participate in ( most of which are Christian). The end of critical thinking, and the beginning of grooming starts at “I believe...” absent any substantial or truly logical and evidentiary facts; to support it.
I think it is best to stop here , and digest what we just talked about, consider how this things have affected our life and the lives of those around us.
I will see you next week when we will try to close this treaty of “craziness of christianity"
